Paintings
Below are some of the paintings commissioned work completed for various customers in Auckland, New Zealand. All of these are acrylic paint on canvas.
7 horses
I received a commission for this painting from a local business. The customer requested a painting featuring seven horses.
His primary objective was for the "horses to not look like horses" and for the image to have a lot of texture and abstract quality.
Making this artwork was a lot of fun, and I'm happy with how it turned out.
Garba
This painting was commissioned to me and they asked for an abstract painting of Garba, a type of Indian folk dance that honours, worships, and celebrates the feminine form of divinity.
So it was important I capture the mood and style in the painting while giving it an abstract look.
This painting is on a 2m x 1m canvas.
Experience your drawing
One of my earliest paintings when I was in the middle / intermediate school (Year 8).
This was done on corugated cardboard with jute to get a different texture. the painting was done without using a brush as I used carboard to paint.
The painting was selected to be showcased at the Waitakere Art Gallary.
Mother
This painting on corrugated paper is a tribute to all the mothers who go through all the hardships to try and offer a bright future for their child.
Ganapati
This painting was commissioned to me asking for an abstract painting of Ganapati a Hindu god of beginnings, good luck and remover of obstacles.
This painting is on a 1.5m x 1.2m canvas.
O'hau Wave
I wanted to create a painting that represented my vacation to Hawaii so I could remember it later. I used different texture brushes and strokes to show the waves texture.
This painting shows the inside of a wave and in the distance, you see the horizon line of the mountains
Indian Heritage
The painting highlights various forms of utensils and ingredients used in the Indian Kitchen.
As part of the High School final year project, I selected this topic and used real-life utensils from our home and cooking ingredients. Various materials like cardboard, paper, newspaper cuttings, crackling paste, actual spices and cooking ingredients were used to get various textures.
